ALLISON BAZARKO
llison, a native of the Chicago area, is not only one of the proud founding members and performers of Foiled Again, but also the resident vocal arranger. She found she had a knack for arranging harmonies when asked to throw a song together for the Foiled Again review, Hit Factory: Songs of the Brill Building four years ago. From that point on, Allison was able to nurture her talents within the group, but it wasn't long before her arrangements began to gain recognition by critics and other performing groups in town.
Most recently, Allison showcased her talents performing with and arranging for the Late Night Alternative Singer Songwriter Series in the smash cabaret hits Stoned Soul Picnic: The Music of Laura Nyro and Blue Eyed Soul: The Music of Dusty Springfield. Allison’s unique arranging style on classic and modern sea shanties can be heard year ’round at Chicago’s Navy Pier, being sung by the six person a cappella vocal group The Tradewinds, for whom she is the musical director.
Allison also plays guitar and likes to stretch her own singer-songwriter chops performing her original music around the Chicago area, in such venues as Uncommon Ground Café, Phyllis’ Musical Inn, Silvie's Lounge, The Leadway and The Abbey Pub. This past year, Allison also had the honor of performing in the Halfway to Hankfest, a festival honoring the music of country legend Hank Williams.
